Unfortunately, we don’t have photos of this wedding (Bride and Groom preferred to have fantastic video instead of photos), but the video is spectacular, and captures their day beautifully.

The bride and groom wanted something classic, that was also very colorful and inherently Costa Rican. We opted for very bright blooms that would go well with their chosen colors of silver and chartreuse, and opted to let the silver (in the chairs, napkins and charger plates) add a bit of bling and sparkle to this wedding. One of the great things about the venue is that, as it is enclosed and air-conditioned, we can actually go with tall centerpieces without having to worry about the wind ruining our plans!

Great food, dancing and a big surprise for the groom (and all the guests) were in store for the evening. Laura coordinated a secret fireworks show for Chris, and he was absolutely thrilled. What a way to finish the night!

This wedding has some of my favorite Costa Rica wedding things right now.. A beautiful setting (well, you cannot go wrong with a spot like the Reserva Conchal Beach Club and Playa Conchal itself!), stunning blooms (the orchids in the bride’s bouquet anyone?), and fantastic tabletop combination (the navy blue with the delicate lace overlay is just to die for!). Add a great looking blue and white dressed bridal party, great lighting and the (as usual) stunning photo and video work by Jonathan Yonkers, and you cannot go wrong!

Estefania and German wanted a very chill and relaxed atmosphere, something authentic that represented both of them (a little boho, a little rock and roll), low key and very colorful. From their choice in venue, to the simple and bright florals, and the multicolor cafe lights, everything about their Playa Ocotal wedding was just that: super fun and totally easy going. Family and friends joined together for the sweet ceremony (officiated by a friend) on the beach, and blessed with fantastic weather, gathered on the beach for cocktails and traditional appetizers such as chifrijo and ceviche.

Guests enjoyed the fantastic food and burned the calories with an evening filled with dancing, followed by a surprise (for the groom) bonfire and concert on the beach.

However, the very best part of the whole planning process, was to see so many of Carla & Felo’s friends come together to offer their time for their special day! A group of friends designed and created the flowers, another friend photographed the event (this resulted in fantastic photographs with a completely different point of view from what we are used to in the wedding industry), another friend designed all the paper goods, and my favorite, another friend handmade the super cool table names, which represented important cities in the lives of these two amazing people… It was such a feel good event, just seeing how everyone was just thrilled to pitch in. And the results are just that, a result of all the love and well wishing that Carla and Felo deserve. To tell the truth, I was truly honored to have been able to participate as well.

Oh, and the coolest detail… Carla and Felo officiated their own wedding. Believe me when I tell you, there was not one dry eye in the house!
